Students are required to complete 5 assignments/grades. The last assignment (week 9) is posted; however, students that already have 5 grades in the grade book are NOT required to complete this assignment.

Week 9: 5/13-5/18-Party Planning ppt.

-Use the Word Document to create a PPT. or SWAY for planning an end of the year party.

-Share the document with me when you have finished. 

-Due Date: Monday, 5/18 by 11:59 pm. If I do not have the assignment by Monday, it will not be graded.

-Final grades will be posted by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 19th.

Week 8: 5/4-5/9-Catch Up week

-You need to have 5 grades in the grade book. If you do not have 5 graded assignments in the grade book, you need to use this week to catch up on the missing assignments.

Week 7: 4/27-5/1-Allusions (Explanatory Writing & Political Cartoons

-Use the words document to respond to the political cartoons using at least 2 complete and well-thought sentences. I have done 1 as an example so you know what I am looking for.

-Share the document with me when you have finished. 

-Due Date: Sunday, 5/3 by 11:59 pm.

Week 6: 4/20-4/24-Creative Writing Choice Board

-Please choose 3 of the writing prompts from the choice board to complete.

-You must have at least 7 complete sentences. Punctuation, capitalization and spelling must be correct. If you have more than 3 mistakes, you will lose points. 

-Please submit ALL THREE responses to me through email at the same time. DO NOT send each response separately . You can record you responses on a word document and share the document or you can simply type them in the email.

Week 5: 4/13-4/17-Student Choice BINGO Board

I hope everyone had a relaxing break. I miss you all!!

-We will be having a virtual faculty meeting on Monday at 3:00. At that time, we are going to discuss how to move forward with grading for the 4th quarter. I know many of you have reached out and told me that you would like to keep the grade you earned at the end of the 3rd quarter; however, I know that you are still expected to complete work for the next couple weeks. I will have more answers about this after we meet.

-Additionally, Cobb County has moved to a 4-day week for virtual learning. Fridays are now considered "catch-up" days, so please take that into consideration when planning out your week.

-Assignment for the week is a Student CHOICE BINGO board. You are to complete 5 of the activities on the BINGO board. You can complete the activities horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Once you have complete the 5 activities, please email me which activities you completed. The BINGO board is here.

-Finally, if you have not completed any of the below assignments, you need to have them completed and turned in to me by FRIDAY, 4/17 @ 11:59 pm.

Week 1: 3/16-3/20-should be completed. You will turn this in when you return to school.

-Students received a packet on Wednesday and Thursday of last week with the stations for the poem "The Highwayman". This packet will review citing textual evidence, analyzing the text by answering questions, plot, similes and metaphors, poetic devices, previewing the text & writing a 5 sentence summary. The PDF is below for any student that does not have all the parts of the assignment.

-Students will need to complete 2 Read Theory quizzes at a 7th grade or higher level.

Week 2: 3/23-3/27-Citing Evidence & Sentence & Phrases/Clauses & CTLS assignment

-Students will complete two topics on USATestprep.  The  two topics that must be completed this week are Citing Evidence & Sentence, Phrases/Clauses. The other topics that are assigned are extra credit opportunities. Each topic has videos, a performance task and questions that you must complete. The lowest grade you can receive is a 70%, so if you score below a 70% it will ask you to complete the assignment again. You must complete all activities under the topic in order to move on to the second topic. 

-All students' login is first letter of first name followed by last name and 2020. All students' passwords are griffin1. Make sure you type in griffin17 as the account ID

-Students will complete a CTLS assessment using the CTLS platform. The assessment is called Digital Learning Week 2-Fiction-"The Mockingbird" poem. Use the CTLS login link below to access the assignment. You will need to put in your student number and under client ID you will need to type gacobb.

-The assignment will be enabled for the whole week; however, I will be available on 3/23 from 9-12, 3/24 from 9-12, & 3/25 from 12-4.

Week 3: 3/30-4/3- College Research Project

-During this week and over Spring Break, if you do not finish it this week, you will research a college of your choice and complete a presentation. The questions that you will need to research are in the Word document below. These are guiding questions. You can include more information if you would like. You can either complete a Sway, PowerPoint or a Buncee presentation-this has more options.

-If you want to complete a Buncee, the class codes are listed below. When you login to the website all you have to do is put in the class code. You DO NOT need to register.
