Message from the District

Please help remind students that while schools are closed, they need to be social distancing (that includes play dates…) and with the amount of cases we have in the area, everyone should be self-monitoring for symptoms. Please share these links with your class:

Message from the ELA Department

The ELA team invites middle school writers to take the 100 Word Story Middle School Challenge!

100 word stories are complete stories that contain a beginning, a middle, and an end told in EXACTLY 100 words.  To participate, all you need to do is write a 100 word story inspired by one of the images in the directions sheet (see attached). To enter your submission, complete the submission form, and then add your story to the Padlet. The story with the most “likes” on May 15 is the winner of a gift card!

My Expectations for ALL of my Students

1. Complete all work that is assigned in and out of class. This means that all questions will be answered using complete sentences and ALL parts of the directions will be followed. Any assignment that is completed after the due date, will have points deducted depending on how late the assignment is turned in to me.

2. I do not assign BUSY WORK, so every assignment that we complete will be graded for accuracy. NO COMPLETION GRADE WILL BE GIVEN IN MY CLASS!!

3. Please take responsibility for your learning. This means:

     - If you are absent, you need to find out what you missed from me or another peer.

     - If an assignment was given when you were out, you need to grab a copy from the Extra Copies bin, complete it and turn it into me ASAP.

     - If you do not understand something that we are doing in class, please ask me!! Do NOT leave a paper blank and then tell me that you didn't understand it after I have put the grade in the grade book. I am always willing to set-up a time to work with you individually before school. I usually always arrive to school by 8:15.

     - If you have a question about your grades, please reach out to me.

     - If your parents have a question about a grade you received, you need to explain to your parents the reason you received that particular grade and PLEASE be honest!!
