We will start reviewing for Milestones this week.
Students will read the short story "Thank You, Ma'am" and complete stations that are centered around the text.
Tuesday, 2/25
-Students will review direct and Indirect characterization by reading the fable "The Fox and The Goat"
-Students will read the short story "Thank You, Ma'am" individually and identify the characterization of Roger and Mrs. Jones as they read the text.
-Students will answer the comprehension quiz and sort constructed response on wizer.me
The code for the quiz is CLFYMN and login in with Microsoft
-Students will complete a character traits booklet by identifying possible negative and positive character traits.
Wednesday/Thursday, 2/26 & 2/27
-Review theme by watching Full House theme song and the video about Christian the Lion
-Students will start station rotations
1. Theme-Students will complete a Theme tree using the text “Thank You, Ma’am” and complete the theme practice worksheet identifying the theme topics, theme and citing textual evidence based on short paragraphs
2. Indirect Characterization- Students will use the notes to complete the indirect characterization worksheet for Mrs. Jones & Roger. Students will look at the characters’ words, feelings, actions, choices, & thoughts to determine the answer.
3. Character Analysis-students will use their character traits booklet to analyze Roger and Mrs. Jones. Students will cite text evidence to support the character traits that they chose.
4. Citing dialogue-Students will use the story to answer questions based on the dialogue in the story
5. Nitro Type, Reading Plus & Read Theory
6. Theme paragraph-students will write a paragraph on the theme of “Thank You, Ma’am”
Friday, 2/28
-Review the RACCES strategy
-Continue working on station rotations
