During this week, we will analyze author's claim, cite textual evidence to back up the claims, and begin our argumentative essay.


1/14- Start stations: Hurricane Maria article

-Station 1: Citing Textual evidence

-Station 2: Skills Test (comprehension questions about the passage and 2 short constructed response questions)

-Station 3: Analyze claims and cite evidence to back-up the claim


1/15-1/16- Continue with stations and start argumentative essay

-Continue with stations. If stations are not completed in class, they will become HW.

-Hand out notes and structure of argumentative essay.


1/17- Analyze exemplar argumentative essay from GA DOE

-Students will receive 2 exemplar essays from the GA DOE that scored a 7/7 on the Milestones

-Students will receive their argumentative essay outline-how many paragraphs and what should be included in each paragraph


Grades for the week:

-Read Theory (must be on a 7th grade level or higher). I will average this week and last weeks scores together and that is the grade that will go in the grade book.

-Hurricane Maria article and station work.
